Quontic Bank seeking Commercial Real Estate Underwriter Candidate will be responsible for examining loan documentation and evaluation credit decisions for accuracy and compliance with portfolio and investor guidelines.

Job Requirements:
•5 to 10 years of related experience in a credit analysis role relative to Commercial Real Estate and Commercial & Industrial lending required
•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or economics
•Must have experience with cash flow analysis, ratio analysis, projections and risk rating criteria.
•Knowledge of real estate appraisal techniques, field audit examination techniques, commercial and industrial collateral valuations and commercial banking regulations required.
•In depth understanding of bank underwriting policies and procedures
•Should have experience in automated underwriting systems
•Excellent computer skills, customer service and communication skills

Job Functions:
•Review commercial loan applications and analyze credit information to make a general assessment of applicant’s creditworthiness. Determine whether or not the proposed loan will conform to the bank’s lending policy.
•Prepare written summary of loan terms and conditions and a written narrative explaining business background, outlining risk factors and justifying assigned risk rating, ensuring conformity with bank credit policy and procedures and with applicable banking regulations.
•For CRE loans, conduct in-depth review of rent rolls, leases, balance sheets, income statements, tax returns and personal  financial statements presented by applicants to assess their ability to generate income sufficient to repay existing and proposed debt.
•For C&I loans, conduct in-depth review of balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, business plans and projections presented by applicants to assess their ability to generate income sufficient to repay existing and proposed debt.
•Identify risks and assist in structuring the loan to mitigate risks.
•Actively participate with lending officers in the preparation of loan proposals for committee presentation, including review of financial statements, projections and site visits.
•Review contracts, leases, appraisals, environmental assessment reports, UCC searches, flood determinations, insurance policies and other information to assess risks associated with the bank’s collateral position. Continue to develop knowledge of appraisal theory and approaches to values.
•Interact with account officers to negotiate loan terms and follow up on information required to decision the application. May contact loan applicants (customers) and their representatives (CPA’s, CFO’s) to obtain clarification about information received from them. Respond to credit applications within the timeframe established by the department.
•Comply with all bank policies, procedures, state and federal banking laws and regulations including Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency Control (OCC) and USA Patriot Act.
