Republic Valuation seeks MAI or Senior Commercial Real Estate Appraiser

We are looking to hire a senior commercial RE appraiser, to collaborate, provide support and guidance to our commercial appraisal team. Candidate must have a NYS General Appraiser license or application in process, and demonstrated experience with progressively complex property assignments. MAI designation or advanced candidate is a plus but not a requirement. Candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting the valuation team in getting their appraisals submitted to clients, This can include a variety of tasks including reviewing reports for accuracy and conformance, tracking client deliverable requirements, client comment history and supporting appraisers in anything they require help with to complete a report and get it out to clients. Assist in setting protocols pertaining to appraisal regulatory guidelines, appraisal methodology, overall quality control as well as team proficiency.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in commercial appraisals, mortgage operations, underwriting or appraisal review.
  • Thorough understanding of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, regulatory guidelines, appraisal theory, and methodology governing real property valuations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to deliver a clear and understandable message to a variety of audiences
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in commercial and residential real estate markets and trends throughout the Metropolitan New York real estate market.
  • Good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, Excel and Google Suite.
  • Working knowledge of commonly used real estate database sources including RealQuest, Comps Inc., CoStar and Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate and concise records and reports.
  • Administrative experience supporting a busy team
