Ruth A. Agnese, MAI, one of the foremost, respected experts in commercial real estate valuation and analysis in New York City and the country, died in April 2013 at the age of 51. Ruth’s service to the Appraisal Institute spanned over a 20 year time period nationally and for the Metropolitan New York Chapter. She was President of the Chapter in 2002. Ruth was passionate about her profession, advancing the professional success of women in real estate and making a difference in the greater community. In December of 2013, the Metropolitan New York Chapter created the Ruth Agnese Scholarship Award. Advanced Candidates for Designation can apply for the Ruth Agnese Scholarship Award.
ELIGIBILITY, REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS
ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must be an Appraisal Institute Candidate for Designation in good standing and working toward an MAI or SRA designation. They must belong to the Metro New York Chapter.
Scholarships may be applied only to advanced Metro New York Chapter Appraisal Institute courses leading to the MAI or SRA designation.
It is recommended that applicant attend a minimum of two Appraisal Institute Chapter meeting annually.
Applicant must submit a completed application.
Applicant must submit a brief statement stating why they are applying for the scholarship – Highlighting professional goals and experience.
Applicant must submit a resume or statement of qualifications.
Applicant must submit a list of completed Appraisal Institute courses taken to date.
Applicant must certify he or she will not be reimbursed for the cost of the class by their employer.
CONDITIONS
Scholarship will be paid directly to the course provider.
Scholarship is for the course fee only.
Scholarship must be used in the same calendar year in which it is awarded.
Award recipients must submit either a completed course registration receipt or written correspondence from the Executive Director of the Appraisal Institute
